2006 Cardboard Cup
On Saturday, August 26, 2006 our United Way held its third annual
Cardboard Cup boat race to launch our 2006 community campaign. An
event such as this is not possible without the support of its participants,
volunteers, local businesses, corporate supporters and those in
attendance who viewed the day’s races.
Our United Way would like to thank the Fort Atkinson Fire Department,
City of Fort Atkinson, Daily Jefferson County Union, High Pointe
Properties, Jays Potato Chips, Veolia Environmental Services, Pick ‘n
Save, Rock River Canoe Rental, and to Jones Dairy Farm and Fort
HealthCare for their corporate support.
We also wish to thank Karen Brunk, Dan Sable, Richard and Kay
Hackett for staffing various volunteer functions. And our
deep appreciation to those who built a boat out of cardboard: Keith
Firari, David Eaton, Bill Lentz, Tom Albrecht, David Rue Family,
Krentz Auto Mart, Matt McCrea, Opportunities, Inc., and Fort HealthCare – without
you there would be no event.
