United Way announces campaign status, sweepstakes extended

FORT ATKINSON, WI – December 13, 2009 – J. Michael Phelps, board chair of the United Way of Jefferson & North Walworth Counties, announces that the organization is currently at 56 percent or $175,000 of its $315,000 local campaign goal. Additionally, the deadline for the Power Up Sweepstakes has been extended to December 18, 2009. The sweepstakes was to conclude on December 11, 2009.

“Community support is at pace with our 2008 campaign and for that our organization is very thankful. However, there are still funds to be raised in order to support valuable work in community,” said Phelps. “People in our community are good stewards of their resources and want a return with their investment. We view our work, work that positively affects our family, friends and neighbors as a solid investment right here at home throughout Jefferson & North Walworth Counties. There is no disconnect between Main Street and Wall Street with a United Way investment, our connection with the local community is very real with our thirty local partners and programs.”
