United Way announces postcard design winner
FORT ATKINSON, WI – January 29, 2009 – The
United Way of Jefferson and North Walworth Counties announces that
a postcard designed by Taylor Jones, a middle school student at
Whitewater Middle School, was selected as the organization’s
2008 donor thank you card.
“There were over twenty-four
designs submitted by students at the Whitewater Middle School and
the creativity of these young minds was outstanding,” said
Dan McCrea, United Way’s executive director. “The
decision was difficult because you could see that everyone worked
hard on their individual submission. However, in the end, we felt
Taylor’s artwork and message best captured the intent of
a United Way thank you card.”
Since 2005 United Way’s
has worked with a different school each year in creating its annual
thank you card. “Art teachers and students have really responded
to our requests and it’s a great way say “thank you” to
our donors and engage our youth as well,” added McCrea.
All
Whitewater Middle School students who submitted artwork were treated
to a pizza lunch and Taylor was presented with a framed copy of
his artwork along with a $15.00 Wal-Mart gift card.
